So, as I sit here planning for the upcoming season, I can only guess whether or not it will be dry or wet; cold or hot; cold and wet; hot and wet; cold and dry; etc, etc, etc. Farming is working with what you're given. Plan out your schedule as best you know how and leave the rest up to God. At least that is how I roll. I do not worry about the weather because it is not something I can control. I do my best to have everything ready to go, so when the weather is fit, I am ready. Many farmers lay in bed at night and worry about the weather. Why, I ask? If you are prepared, the weather should not not be a worry.
Have I ever lost a crop due to the weather? Yes. How did I deal with that? I replanted and actually had one of the best crops we have seen at the Bountiful Blessing Farm. I believe a good farmer learns how to roll with the punches. Be prepared for drought and be prepared for lots of rain. Last year we had 11 inches of rain in June. We still had a crop and we still harvested a crop. God blessed us well.
We are looking forward to another wonderful season here at the farm. We cannot wait to see what God has planned for us this year. Again, we want to thank you, our family, friends and neighbors for your support. We look forward to seeing you soon!
